The Philadelphia Phillies re-signed Kyle Schwarber on a $150 million contract, and in turn, the rest of the offseason for the Phillies can come into form.

While Schwarber was a high priority for the Phillies this winter, re-signing JT Realmuto and adding to the outfield are the other two biggest priorities. As one way to address the outfield need, a position change for Bryce Harper or Trea Turner has been rumored.

However, according to Todd Zolecki of MLB.com, the Phillies and president of baseball operations Dave Dombrowski have clear plans when it comes to moving Harper or Turner to the outfield.

"Dombrowski said there are no plans to ask first baseman Bryce Harper to return to the outfield," Zolecki writes, "or for Trea Turner to move to center field if they had an opportunity to reshape the infield."

Moving one of Harper or Turner to the outfield for the 2026 season is not in the cards for the Phillies. While reshaping the infield, either by adding a first baseman or a shortstop, could be in the cards, the Phillies have no such plans this offseason.

Harper will remain at first base, and Turner at shortstop. Bryson Stott and Alec Bohm round out the Phillies' infield, though either could be traded away this offseason.

This move wasn't a realistic option for the Phillies, but it was something that could've been in the cards if a drastic change had been made.

But, no such move is coming, and even if the Phillies pull off a surprising trade or free agent signing, it won't come at the expense of moving Harper or Turner to the outfield.
