The Detroit Tigers have played great baseball over the past two years, but there are still spots on the roster that need help. The outfield is one of them, specifically a right-handed-hitting option.

Harrison Bader is a free agent and might make some sense. Bader shouldn’t be expensive, and can provide decent play.

According to Joel Reuter of Bleacher Report, the Tigers are a landing spot for the former New York Yankees and New York Mets outfielder as Detroit looks to fix its outfield and add something to its lineup.

“Parker Meadows and Wenceel Perez have both shown flashes of impact potential during their time in the majors, but neither has established himself as a reliable option over a full 162-game season. Adding a veteran to the outfield mix, ideally one who can handle center field, would put less pressure on that duo and leave the team better prepared to navigate potential injuries,” Reuter wrote

Meadows might be part of the long-term plan, but it’s tough to love what he’s done offensively. He can go and get it in the center, but the bat has to come around.

Bader would give the Tigers flexibility. The Tigers have shown they want veterans around with some of their recent offseason moves, so another one in Bader would be wise.
