Phillies receive positive free agency prediction for All-Star slugger image

Will Shohei Ohtani likely win the National League MVP for the second year in a row? Probably, but a case can most definitely be made for Philadelphia Phillies outfielder/designated hitter Kyle Schwarber, who set career-highs with 56 home runs and 132 runs batted in during the 2025 season while playing in all 162 games for the Phils.

Schwarber has without a doubt been Philadelphia's biggest asset of the year, and even represented the National League strong in the MLB All-Star Game this year, giving the NL the win in a swing-off in extra innings, blasting three home runs on three pitches, and also leading Philadelphia to the second-best record in the entire league.

Only issue is, the Philly fanbase could be witnessing their final moments with Schwarber in a red pinstriped jersey, as the slugger is testing the free agency waters this offseason, but according to one report, the "City of Brotherly Love" has nothing to worry about.

Bleacher Report Predicts Schwarber Re-Signs With Phillies

Erik Beaston of Bleacher Report predicted the final landing spots for the top free agents as the MLB regular season came to a close Sunday night and doesn't expect the reigning All-Star MVP to go anywhere else, even believing that Schwarber could play out the rest of his career with the team given his popularity amongst the fanbase.

"The Phillies will likely due whatever it takes to re-sign him, but the master of the Schwarbomb will have options," Beaston wrote. "

Still, the 33-year-old fits the culture of the Phillies, is as popular among fans as even Bryce Harper, and has the potential to stay with the club through the end of the career if he so pleases."

The Phillies still have the postseason to play, and with Schwarber's clutch factor he has shown over the years for the team, this should give Philadelphia's front office all the more initiative to grant any contract wishes the three-time All-Star has, especially if it results in the team's third World Series championship.
