The Philadelphia Phillies acquired Harrison Bader and Jhoan Duran from the Minnesota Twins at the 2025 MLB trade deadline, and to pick up both, they had to give up two top ten prospects in Mick Abel and Eduardo Tait.

But the team was able to keep their top three prospects in Andrew Painter, Justin Crawford, and Aidan Miller. After the first week of September, the Phillies made a couple of intriguing moves in the minor leagues, promoting a trio of prospects.

According to Chase Ford of MILB Central, the Phillies are promoting a trio of players in the minor leagues, led by Miller, who could be a lot more important than he was just a week ago for the Phillies.

Phillies Promote Trio of Top Prospects

The most notable prospect promoted by the Phillies is Aidan Miller, a shortstop who's flashed incredible defensive prowess, great base-stealing ability, and, recently, some amazing offensive upside.

Miller, the Phillies' second-ranked prospect, is heading to Triple-A Lehigh Valley after raking in Double-A. The 21-year-old had a .259 batting average with an .810 OPS in 108 games played with 74 runs scored, 105 hits, 25 doubles, two triples, 13 home runs, 41 RBIs, 73 walks, and impressively, 52 stolen bases.

In August, Miller hit .348 with a 1.083 OPS across 22 games. Across his six September games, Miller hit .421 with a 1.239 OPS. His incredible numbers lately have him in Triple-A to close out the regular season. But, he could also become a lot more important due to the Trea Turner injury.

While an MLB promotion would be a big leap for Miller, it's a possibility now that Turner is hurt, especially if it keeps the MVP candidate out for a while.

The other two prospects of note to be promoted by the Phillies are infielder Aroon Escobar and outfielder Dante Nori. Escobar is the fifth-ranked Phillies prospect, while Nori is ranked sixth. Both are being promoted to Double-A Reading.

Escobar in High-A hit .256 with a .717 OPS across 168 at-bats. Nori, meanwhile, hit .279 with a .722 OPS in just 43 at-bats in High-A before his promotion to Double-A.

Nori was the Phillies' first-round pick in 2024, while Escobar signed with the Phillies in 2022 as an international free agent. Neither is likely to make their MLB debuts for some time, but their ascension up the Phillies' farm system this season is an encouraging sign.

Both Nori and Escobar are intriguing prospects to keep an eye on, though their impact on the Majors won't be for some time. Miller, on the other hand, could become a huge component of the Phillies if Turner's injury is serious.

While there's no guarantee that Miller could make his MLB debut in 2025, it's not out of the question if Miller tears it up in Triple-A during his brief stint there, and the Phillies' replacement for Turner, in the event of a serious injury, doesn't pan out.

Regardless, these three prospects getting promoted are exciting moves for the Phillies to make. Miller, Nori, and Escobar are all being promoted, with Miller now on the doorstep to the Major Leagues at Triple-A.
