The Philadelphia Phillies are finally making headway on their next free agent signing, but it's not J.T. Realmuto as most expected. Instead, it's Bo Bichette.
Formerly with the Toronto Blue Jays, the All-Star infielder is set to meet with the Phillies on Monday, in the first sign that the Phillies are working towards a deal with Bichette.
While an exciting update, the report from MLB insider Jon Morosi is very intriguing. This meeting with Bichette is the first report of the two sides being linked, but Morosi reports that the Monday meeting is not their first meeting this winter.
Phillies get intriguing Bo Bichette meeting report
"A really important report yesterday indicating a second meeting is happening between the Phillies and Bo Bichette," Morosi reports.

This isn't just a simple rehashing of the report on how the Phillies are meeting with Bichette. Morosi clearly states that this meeting is the second one the two sides have had.
Bichette has only recently been strongly linked to the Phillies, and yet, Morosi's report suggests something has been in the works for longer than just a week or so.
In recent days, the two sides have grown closer and closer, with a signing seemingly on the horizon between the Phillies and Bichette.

Getting the All-Star infielder would be an incredible move for the Phillies, especially since the right-handed slugger will bring a.311 average and overall quality hitting to Philadelphia, where the Phillies need it most.
There's no guarantee a deal gets worked out, but this mention from Morosi is one of the more important reports to come out after these two have been linked.
This Monday meeting is the first sign that the two sides are meeting this offseason, but Morosi's report suggests they've already met, and this upcoming meeting is the second.
Things are trending towards the Phillies landing Bichette, and the reporting of a second meeting is some very interesting news for Philadelphia's odds of getting the Blue Jays' postseason hero to join the Phillies.
