The Philadelphia Phillies have been one of baseball's top teams this season, and there have already been so many incredible moments and milestones reached. But none were more anticipated than Kyle Schwarber's 50th home run.
After his four-home run game against the Atlanta Braves, Schwarber had been homerless for some time; in fact, it was the longest drought of the year for Schwarber (10 games). However, against the New York Mets, Schwarber hit his 50th, and it was an incredible moment.
As Schwarber rounded the bases, he reached third base and, according to Charlotte Varnes of The Athletic, shared a one-word reaction with third base coach Dusty Wathan.
Schwarber Shares One-Word Reaction to Hitting 50th Home Run
The message Schwarber shared with Wathan was one that many Phillies fans can empathize with, as Schwarber yelled out "Finally" upon hitting his 50th home run.
It's an incredible achievement for Schwarber, as he becomes only the second Phillies hitter in franchise history to reach 50 home runs in a single season, joining Ryan Howard, who hit 58 in 2006.
Howard went on to win the National League MVP in his historic home run season, and while Schwarber isn't likely to win it over Shohei Ohtani, his feat is still an incredible one.
With 17 games left in the regular season, Schwarber can continue to add to his home run total, but with a chance to lock up the NL East and a first-round bye earlier than the final few series, his chances to reach Howard's total aren't great.

But his feat is still remarkable, and Schwarber's instant reaction is one that fans can empathize with. After hitting four in one game, Schwarber had to wait 10 games until he hit his 50th.
His 50th home run has a lot more meaning than just reaching 50 homers. It came against the Mets, helping propel the Phillies to go up nine games, with the Phillies' magic number for the NL East also dropping to nine.
Also, his 50th, aside from being a major milestone, is also some MLB history. Schwarber becomes the only player in MLB history to hit four home runs in one game, while also hitting 50 home runs in the same season.
Tuesday night was incredible for the Phillies, as the win over the Mets put the team in a great position to win the NL East, while also providing incredible theatrics for Schwarber's 50th home run.
