The Philadelphia Phillies have their eyes set on another postseason berth. They currently lead the National League East with their 87-60 record, which is the second-best record in all of MLB.

Last year, they won the division, but had their season end in the NLDS when they lost the series 3-1 to the New York Mets. However, that is not the only thing on the club's mind, with some stars' contracts ending after this season.

Kyle Schwarber is one of these players who will see their contract come to an end in 2025. He is projected to be one of the most sought-after free agents on the open market, and Philadelphia could have a tough time retaining him.

In his 11th season in MLB, Kyle Schwarber has taken his game to a whole new level in 2025. He has yet to miss a game this season, hitting .242/.368/.560 with an NL-leading 50 home runs and  an MLB-leading 123 runs batted in,

Philadelphia's front office will do everything it can to retain its star. President of baseball operations Dave Dombrowski spoke on the team's desire to keep Schwaber in Philly, via the New York Post's Jon Heyman

"We want to retain him now, and we wanted to retain him then."

With a projected contract value of $100+, it is going to take a big commitment to keep him there. But that is in the plans, as one team spokesperson told Heyman that the team will do "everything we can" to keep their star.
