Bryce Harper needed a change.

The Phillies superstar was hitting .237 through May 11. That wasn't good enough for a guy who is consistently one of the best hitters in baseball.

So Harper made a change. He chopped off the long hair and went instead for a buzzcut.

And in 43 plate appearances since the haircut, Harper is batting .432 with a .488 on-base percentage and .649 slugging percentage.

In that span since May 12, Harper has homered once, totaled six extra-base hits and driven in 10 runs.

The haircut wasn't the only change. On Thursday in Colorado, Harper rocketed multiple baseballs the other way as he's begun to use the whole field better.

But hey, baseball is a game of superstition. Harper changed something up, and the new thing is working.

It's safe to guess that Harper won't be in a hurry to grow his hair out that long again if he keeps hitting like this with the tight shave.

The Phillies will gladly take this version of Harper. He's raised his season average from that .237 up to .275 during this torrid stretch.

Look good, feel good, play good.
