There are a lot of moves the Phillies had to make this offseason, and while Kyle Schwarber's return was the most important, the team's arbitration contracts were also important.
Jesus Luzardo and the Phillies agreed to an $11 million contract for the 2026 MLB season, and next in line were a few infielders.
Robert Murray of Fansided.com reported that beloved infielder Bryson Stott was the next to agree to a deal, coming to terms with the Phillies on a $5.9 million contract to avoid arbitration.
Phillies agree to $5.9 million contract with Bryson Stott
"Source: Bryson Stott and the Phillies have agreed at $5.9 million to avoid arbitration," Murray reports on deadline day.
With the Phillies needing to come to terms with arbitration-eligible players by 8:00 p.m. Eastern time on Thursday, the $5.9 million Stott deal is a big one.
Other than Luzardo, Stott was one of the most important people to get a deal agreed to. Alec Bohm is another big name the Phillies need to come to terms with, but for now, Stott is officially returning in 2026, and on a $5.9 million deal.
Stott has been a hit in Philadelphia, becoming beloved by the city thanks to his clutch moments in past postseasons and his iconic walk-up song.

While he's not been the best player on the team, he's helped the Phillies round out their infield over the last few years since his debut in 2022.
He's under club control through 2027, so this will be his penultimate season before becoming a free agent.
Stott's deal isn't too expensive, and shouldn't hinder their chances of signing a top free agent like Bo Bichette, J.T. Realmuto, or anyone else they're interested in.
