The Philadelphia Phillies have been rumored to be shopping third baseman Alec Bohm over the last two offseasons, and yet, they've not been close to trading him.
This winter has been less trade rumors, but amid their interest in Bo Bichette, a Bohm trade might be on the horizon. But, in the meantime, a different bit of news came out about Bohm.
According to Matt Gelb of The Athletic, the Phillies have agreed to a contract update with Bohm worth $10.2 million to avoid arbitration.
Phillies agree to $10.2 million contract with Alex Bohm
"Phillies and Alec Bohm have settled at $10.2 million to avoid arbitration, league sources said," Gelb reports. "Bohm is a free agent after the 2026 season."
Bohm is now officially on the books for the Phillies at $10.2 million, with his current deal being the last year of his club control.
He will be a free agent after 2026, and while the Phillies might not find a replacement for him, they've been exploring alternatives the last few offseasons, including lately with Bichette and potentially even Alex Bregman.
But, for now, Bohm is the team's third baseman and will be back for another year, barring an addition of Bichette or Bregman to the roster this winter.

After a slow start, Bohm finished the 2025 season with solid numbers. He hit.287 with 11 home runs and an OPS of.741. While it wasn't as good as his previous two seasons, Bohm was overall a positive player for the Phillies in 2025.
But there is some uncertainty about whether he will be on the team in 2026, with the trade rumors continuing into this winter, with Bichette emerging as a possibility.
Bohm is 29 years old, in the final year of club control, and will be a free agent next offseason. He's agreed to a $10.2 million deal with the Phillies, avoiding arbitration.
