The trade deadline is approaching, and for a win-now team like the Philadelphia Phillies, that means few players can relax.
In the right trade, nearly anybody could be shipped out. That includes big-leaguers who aren't quite stars on the Phillies' current roster, but to an even larger degree, it includes top prospects.
It seems as though the Phillies are unwilling to engage on the possibility of trading their number-one prospect, right-handed pitcher Andrew Painter. If that's indeed the case, prospects two through 30 should be on high alert.
The number-two prospect in the Phillies organization is Aidan Miller, a rising star middle infielder who ranks 22nd on MLB Pipeline's current Top 100 overall prospects list. Is he a candidate to be moved?
According to Matt Gelb of The Athletic, it appears if your name isn't Andrew Painter, you should be prepared to get traded, and that even includes Miller.
"Everyone else in the organization, according to league sources, might be available to varying degrees," Gelb wrote, in reference to Painter being deemed untouchable.

"That would include Aidan Miller, who has improved at shortstop and become a better base-stealing threat with Double-A Reading in 2025. But he has not hit for average or power. He is still young; Miller just turned 21. If the Phillies are trying to build a competitive prospect package to acquire Clase or one of the Twins relievers, they might have to begin with Miller."
The 21-year-old Miller owns a .730 OPS in 66 games at Double-A this year, hitting only seven home runs. But he does have 31 stolen bases under his belt, and a lot of teams are trying to get more speed up the middle these days.
Obviously, everything depends on the trade. If the Phillies think Miller is fetching them a player who can help win a World Series, it sure seems possible he could go.
