The Philadelphia Phillies made a wise decision last week, adding Walker Buehler to the team. Buehler has struggled for parts throughout his career, mainly due to injuries.

Unfortunately, during his time with the Boston Red Sox, he was one of the worst starters in Major League Baseball, and that can't be forgotten about.

However, because Zack Wheeler is out and may not throw another pitch this year, the Phillies had to take action. Buehler was the best option available at this time, as the trade deadline passed.

Phillies give positive Walker Buehler outlook

It remains uncertain what the plan might be for Buehler in the postseason, or if he'll even be on the postseason roster after everything is said and done, but Dave Dombrowski spoke about what his future looks like in the immediate term.

"He's happy with the plan," Dombrowski said of Buehler, per Deesha Toshar of FOX. "We're happy with the plan because we think it makes us better. We're trying to do everything we can to qualify for the postseason and then, if we can make it, to do anything we can to win."

Having a six-man rotation could work for the Phillies, as it works for other teams.

However, heading into the postseason, there isn't much of a chance for them to do what they want to do with a six-man rotation.

Ultimately, a few of those arms will have to be moved to the bullpen, even if it's Buehler.

Buehler had some decent moments for the Los Angeles Dodgers last year out of the pen, so it could make sense to put him in that role.
