The Los Angeles Dodgers live to see another day.

Facing a must-win situation down 3-2 in the World Series, Yoshinobu Yamamoto and Mookie Betts led the way as Los Angeles secured a narrow 3-1 victory.

Yamamoto and Kevin Gausman were on fire to begin the game, as just one player reached base in the first two innings. Then the Dodgers’ offense finally broke through with a crooked inning.

Will Smith opened the scoring with a leadoff double, and the struggling Mookie Betts came through with a bases-loaded single that scored the deciding two runs. Betts was hitting fourth in this game for the first time since 2017, and he delivered the big hit Los Angeles needed.

While George Springer got one run back, Toronto couldn’t muster any more. Yamamoto held the Blue Jays to one run over six innings, leaving the game with a two-run lead.

Of course, the game came down to the Dodgers’ bullpen. Justin Wrobleski worked a scoreless seventh inning, but Roki Sasaki ran into trouble. The rookie escaped a jam in the eighth but allowed two runners on with no outs in the top of the ninth.

However, Tyler Glasnow bailed him out, including getting Andres Gimenez to line into a double play to end the game. At one point, it seemed like the Blue Jays were going to flip the game, but instead, we have a Game 7.
