The Red Sox will look to bounce back on Patriots Day when they wrap up their four-game series against the struggling White Sox (5-16) at Fenway Park.

Chicago dropped the first two contests, getting thumped on Friday and then falling in extras on Saturday. But on Sunday, the tide finally turned.

Trailing 4-2 heading into the seventh, the White Sox erupted for six unanswered runs, snapping a six-game skid and ending an eight-game winless streak on the road to open the season. Matt Thaiss and Andrew Vaughn each launched two-run homers to fuel the comeback.

With a chance to split the series, the White Sox hand the ball to right-hander Jonathan Cannon for his fifth start of the year. Cannon enters with an 0-2 record, a 4.42 ERA, and a 1.53 WHIP, having given up 17 hits and 11 walks over 18.1 innings while striking out 18.

The Red Sox, meanwhile, saw their shot at a sweep slip away. After jumping out to a 4-2 lead behind Wilyer Abreu's three-run blast in the first inning and six strong frames from starter Tanner Houck (2 ER, 3 H, 7 K), Boston's bullpen unraveled late. The relievers surrendered six hits and five runs across the final three innings, ending the club’s four-game win streak and a stretch of five wins in six.

Looking to get back in the win column on Monday morning, Boston turns to Walker Buehler. The righty is 2-1 with a 5.23 ERA and a 1.26 WHIP over four starts, allowing 21 hits in 20.2 innings of work.
