It's an American League East clash on "Friday Night Baseball," with the Orioles hosting the Rays at Camden Yards.

Tampa Bay will aim to continue its midseason surge and close ground on the first-place Yankees in the AL East. The Rays entered play on Thursday just one game behind New York.

A relentless offense and dominant pitching staff are equal parts responsible for the winning ways: Heading into Thursday's series finale in Kansas City, the Rays were 24-9 in their last 33 games. Star young third baseman Junior Caminero has been a force in the middle of the lineup, bashing 19 home runs with 50 RBI.

Meanwhile, Baltimore is still hoping to claw its way out of a daunting early-season hole. Injuries continue to batter the Orioles — Adley Rutschman recently landed on the injured list — but they still need more production from their healthy players, including Gunnar Henderson.

The good news is that Henderson, an MVP candidate last season, looks to be rounding into form. He's hitting .316 with an .817 OPS in June.
