Jack Bauer is a tantalizing MLB Draft prospect.

That stems from his fastball, that he throws at 103 miles per hour.

He's from Illinois, where he played at Lincoln-Way East High School.

And yeah, about that name.

Is Jack Bauer named after the 24 character?

Yes, Jack Bauer's parents actually named him after the protagonist from the hit TV show 24.

The Jack Bauer in that show was played by Kiefer Sutherland, who told MLB.com he has heard about the prodigy.

"To see someone excel at that level at such a young age, and the fact that he has the last name Bauer and his parents chose to call him Jack. ... It's kind of fun for me," Sutherland said. "Like I said, I'm not the most avid baseball fan, but now I've got something to root for."

What number does Jack Bauer wear?

Yep, Jack Bauer wears the uniform number 24.

Has he watched the show?

"Sometime in the future, I do plan on watching it," Bauer told MLB.com. "I've heard great things."

He might be busy for a little while pursuing his professional baseball dreams.
