New York Yankees ace Carlos Rodon's wife, Ashley, seems to be upset with the team's scheduling. The Yankees played the Houston Astros on Thursday night in the series finale. Rodon started the game for the visitors. He pitched six strong innings, allowing only one earned run on three hits and two walks. He struck out three in the game.
However, by the time he flew back home, it was already late. He arrived at his residence early morning when Ashley was just waking up and preparing his kids for school.
"Los walking in the door from Houston 🤝🏻 me waking up to get the kids ready for school. Wild they’re allowed to do this to the team and make them play! 😱 Just play a day game…smh," Ashley wrote on X.
Ashley suggested that the series finale in Houston should have been a day game, which would then have allowed the southpaw to return home way sooner. Rodon is a father to three kids and shares them with his wife, Ashley. They are parents to Willow, Bo and Silo.
Yankees manager opens up on poor scheduling
It's not only Ashley who seems upset with the team's poor scheduling. There are several in the clubhouse who are affected because of this. While Yankees manager Aaron Boone understands the concerns, he shared that it's going to happen to everyone since they have to play 162 games in 180 days.
“It’s the grind of the season, baby. We’ll make the best of it,” Boone said. “I have some conversations sometimes [with MLB], but you also understand it’s the nature of the beast and 162 games in 180 days, you’re going to have some tough schedules. But it doesn’t really matter; nobody cares. We’re at that point in the season, we’re in the stretch drive, we need to keep winning games.”
The Yankees next host the Toronto Blue Jays and the Detroit Tigers in order before traveling to Boston and play the Red Sox.
