Milwaukee Brewers standout rookie pitcher Jacob Misiorowski is scheduled to take the mound Wednesday afternoon in the series finale against the Pittsburgh Pirates.
The 23-year-old will face off against Paul Skenes in an exciting pitching matchup at Great American Ballpark.
Misiorowski has made a strong impression during his first two major league starts. The Brewers' young right-hander began his career by throwing 11 straight no-hit innings against the St. Louis Cardinals and Minnesota Twins.
23-year-old phenom Skenes aims to continue his impressive season. The fiery right-hander has been entertaining to watch, making 16 starts with a 1.85 ERA over 102 innings pitched.
Skenes and Misiorowski almost played together at LSU after Misiorowski had a strong season at community college, but he decided to forgo his scholarship after the Brewers drafted him in the second round.

The Brewers lost a tight matchup Monday evening versus their NL Central rival, the Pirates. They bounced back with a win on Tuesday.
The pitching matchup on Wednesday with Misiorowski and Skenes will be a duel to which the baseball world will be paying close attention. Skenes, who has some of the best stuff in the league, will take on Misiorowski, who has had a promising start to his major league career.
It should be fun to watch.
