Yankees trade proposal lands 3 key pieces in one deal to chase AL East title image

The New York Yankees could use a bunch of things before the trade deadline.

They wouldn't mind a third baseman, another starter and another reliever.

Yahoo Sports comes through with a clutch trade idea that lands all three in one.

Here's the idea:

Yankees get: Eugenio Suarez, Merrill Kelly, Jalen Beeks

Diamondbacks get: Clayton Beeter, Ben Hess, Bryce Cunningham, Everson Pereira, Roc Riggio

Suarez has been a popular target for the Yankees all along, having already hit 31 homers before the break.

Kelly is a veteran starting pitcher, and Beeks is a lefty reliever.

Arizona would come away nicely in this deal. Pereira and Riggio both have put up big stats at different rungs of the minors, and the arms in the trade are solid, too.

But none of the prospects are sure-fire stars, so it's a fine deal for the Yankees, who take a big swing at running down the AL East crown and getting back to the World Series.
