The Yankees' torpedo bats are legal, and they're quickly spreading around Major League Baseball.

Not everyone likes them or wants to use them, but plenty of players are adopting the newest trend.

The Yankees, with as many as five starters already on board, have hit more home runs in their first six games than any team in MLB history.

There's only one thing that could derail the Bronx Bombers: strikeouts.

The torpedo bat only can work its magic if it actually hits the ball.

And on Wednesday night, the Yankees struck out 16 times among their 27 outs in a loss to the Diamondbacks. In defeat the night before, it was 14 strikeouts.

The Yankees never struck out 16 times in a game last season, but they've already checked that ugly box this time around.

It's an era of lots of strikeouts, but there's still a point when it becomes too many. We've seen how dangerous the Yankees already are when they make contact. When the games get big, they'll just have to be sure to swing and connect.
