After spending nearly nine years with the Colorado Rockies, Ryan McMahon was traded to the New York Yankees this past July. The Bronx Bombers needed to fill the hole at third base, and he was the guy they felt the most confident in.

He has struggled offensively at times this season, hitting just .203/.307/.314 with three home runs and 17 runs batted in across 52 games. The new scene in New York has been tough to get used to.

McMahon went from playing in one of the smallest MLB markets to being thrown into the spotlight in the Bronx. Every game matters here, and every misplay is put under a microscope, unlike in Colorado.

Ryan McMahon recently sat down with the New York Post's Steve Serby. Here, Serby asked everything from how he felt about his teammates to some of the players he admires and who he studies now.

"I always watched Jeter, but then once I started playing a bit more third base, I got to watch Nolan [Arenado] work for so many years. You can't help but admire that guy, the way he goes about his craft. Other guys around the league, I love watching Manny Machado, I think everybody does. Matt Chapman for me, though, is one of my favorites to watch, I just think he's a grinder."

Growing up, McMahon was a fan of Derek Jeter, but when he started to transition to third base, he began watching guys like Nolan Arenado and Manny Machado. However, he views Matt Chapman as his favorite third baseman right now, due to his grind-it-out nature.
