It's because of players like outfielder Cody Bellinger that the New York Yankees are still firmly in pursuit of the Toronto Blue Jays in the AL East standings.

The 2019 NL MVP is currently batting .276 with 28 home runs and 93 runs batted in through his first 139 games in pinstripes, adding to the dangerous amount of power that the team already possesses with fellow MVPs Aaron Judge, Paul Goldschmidt, and Giancarlo Stanton.

And if everything goes to plan, the good times could keep on rolling for the Yankees and their quadrant of MVPs.

Bellinger Predicted To Re-Sign With Yankees

According to Jackson Roberts with Fastball On SI in an article predicting the offseason moves for players with contract options for the 2026 season, Bellinger is expected to opt out of his current deal with New York and resign with the 27-time champions.

"He's worth more than the $25 million he'd make if he exercised his player option, but no one knows that more than the Bronx Bombers, who also have to think about Trent Grisham's free agency," Roberts wrote.

With the regular season ending at the end of this month, the Yankees currently trail the Toronto Blue Jays by four games in the AL East standings.
