Earlier this week, the 2026 MLB Draft order came to fruition. The Chicago White Sox came in with the highest odds to win the first pick, and did just that.

Following the White Sox will be the Tampa Bay Rays and the Minnesota Twins. Rounding out the top five includes the San Francisco Giants with the fourth pick and the Pittsburgh Pirates taking home the fifth pick.

Unfortunately for some teams, like the New York Yankees, they will not have a typical first-round pick. Thanks to the luxury tax penalties, they will not make their first pick until 35 other teams pick before them.

Despite picking at 36, there will still be loads of great talent looking to take the next step in their baseball journey. Bleacher Report's Joel Reuter recently came out with his early 2026 mock draft, and in it, he believes the Yankees could be a good match for Texas A&M third baseman Gavin Grahovac.

Grahovac is a cousin of Garrett Mitchell, who was taken 20th overall in the 2020 MLB Draft, and Grahovac is looking to do much of the same.

Scouts love the power that comes off his bat, setting a freshman record for the Aggies with 23 homers in 2024. However, he does come into the new season with some question marks.

He is coming off a left shoulder surgery, which could hurt his draft stock if it comes into play when the spring season rolls along.

Some scouts are not certain about his ability to play at third base in the big leagues. He will need to clean up his defense if he wants a chance at the hot corner, or he could potentially move to left or right field.
