The New York Yankees were dealt a tough blow after learning they would be without their captain, Aaron Judge, for some time. He was placed on the 10-day IL on July 27, dealing with a flexor strain in his right elbow.

However, he returned to the lineup on August 5, but he has not played the outfield yet. Judge has been used as the club's designated hitter for the past month, but is close to returning to the outfield.

Before he does, the Yankees will have to figure out who will get the short end of the stick. According to Yanks Go Yard's Stephen Parello, he believes Jasson Dominguez will see his playing time take a hit.

"The true failing here is Jasson Dominguez, who is a switch-hitter in name only," said Parello. "This would be a prime opportunity to get the 22-year-old some at-bats, but his .569 OPS while batting right-handed pales in comparison to (Trent) Grisham's still subpar .662 mark."

Jasson Dominguez has struggled against LHP this season

Jasson Dominguez was a prospect that much of the baseball world was excited to see. However, he has yet to live up to much of that hype outside of a few stretches.

His biggest problem has been facing left-handed pitchers. He is holding a .204 batting average against them this season, with an OBP of .279, a SLG of .290, and an OPS of .569, and recently snapped a month-long homerless drought a few weeks ago.

This is far from the production many believed Dominguez would have in the big leagues. He still has some work to do before he can be the player that everyone expected him to be.
