The New York Yankees recently made a much-needed move. The team brought Jazz Chisholm Jr. back to second base and moved DJ LeMahieu to the bench moving forward.
With that, Oswald Peraza is now the primary third baseman for the team. He has a solid glove, but his OPS is .487. With Chisholm back at second base, where he is more comfortable, the Yankees will clearly be looking at third base as the position to upgrade at the trade deadline. MLB Network's Greg Amsinger predicted the Yankees would acquire Eugenio Suárez at the trade deadline.
"He's going to the Bronx," Amsinger predicted of Suárez. "When Aaron Boone comes out and says Jazz is going to play second base, third base is open now. They need a right-handed bat. We all talk about (Aaron) Judge, but when you start going through all of the left-handed hitters they have, I'm sorry, I think from (Ben) Rice to (Cody) Bellinger to Jazz, if you get Suárez and put that 40 homers at third base, The Bronx would be on fire."
Suárez would be a massive upgrade for the Yankees. He is playing on a $15 million club option this year after signing a seven-year, $66 million deal with the Cincinnati Reds in 2018. Since then, he has been traded to the Seattle Mariners and then the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Suárez would be the everyday third baseman for the Yankees. He is slashing .252/.319/.558 with 28 home runs. He would be an instant difference maker for their offense.

He is now a two-time All-Star after being named as a reserve in this year's Midsummer Classic. He has over 300 career home runs and could help the Yankees turn things around after a tough stretch.
