The New York Yankees are in need of some infield help, but may not align too well in a trade with some teams who have infielders to offer. Could they use one of their outfielders to land an infielder in a three-team deal?

The Yankees have a glaring hole at third base. While Eugenio Suárez is the ideal trade target, the Yankees may need to pivot if they cannot land him. They could target a player like Willi Castro, who is also a free agent after the season.

The Yankees could tap into their outfield depth to make a trade, as they do not have the strongest farm system. However, the Minnesota Twins are not going to want to swap a rental for a rental, and CBS Sports' Mike Axisa predicted the Yankees would make a three-team trade with the Philadelphia Phillies and Twins to land Castro.

"The Phillies badly need an outfielder. A center fielder, preferably," wrote Axisa. "The Yankees are rumored to be open to moving one of their three non-Aaron Judge outfielders (Trent Grisham, Cody Bellinger, Jasson Domínguez) for a badly needed third baseman. The Phillies and Yankees don't match up well for an outfielder-for-third baseman trade, which is where the Twins come in. Rental Grisham for rental Castro makes no sense for Minnesota. If they're selling, they won't want a rental. They'll want controllable young players, so a three-team trade in which Grisham goes to Philadelphia, Phillies prospects go to Minnesota, and Castro goes to the Yankees could be in the cards."

This trade would help all parties involved. The Twins want prospects, and the Phillies would provide them. Meanwhile, the Phillies would be getting Grisham, who will be a free agent after the season, but would fill a huge role for them.

Castro has made 94 appearances at third base in his career. He was an All-Star last season, but his numbers are better across the board this season. He would be an upgrade for the Yankees if they are outbid for Suárez.
