The New York Yankees are going to be under a large microscope during the MLB offseason. New York's front office has major decisions to make all over its roster, and some major shakeup is expected to happen.
Trent Grisham was a breakout star for the Yankees in 2025, but now that his one-year deal has expired, he's set to hit free agency once again, and his stock has increased tremendously after this season.

Yankees predicted to cut ties with Trent Grisham
Because Trent Grisham's stock has increased, he will be seeking a long-term deal from either the Yankees or another organization.
In a recent 2026 roster projection by NorthJersey.com, Trent Grisham is predicted to "go" from the Yankees outfield:
"Who stays: Aaron Judge, Jasson Dominguez, Giancarlo Stanton, Cody Bellinger. Who goes: Trent Grisham, Austin Slater."
In this prediction, Cody Bellinger presumably would take over center field duties, and Trent Grisham would sign elsewhere.

There's no doubt that Grisham's market will be large, after smashing 34 home runs this season, and New York may have to allocate their payroll elsewhere to help improve in other areas. Again, the Yankees are one of the most interesting teams to follow this MLB offseason just due to the sheer amount of player transactions they will make.
