The New York Yankees have had their ups and downs as a team this season. However, one thing is true, and that's that they have some players having incredible offensive seasons.

Aside from Aaron Judge, the Yankees have two other players with 30+ home runs on the season (Jazz Chisholm Jr. and Trent Grisham), and Cody Bellinger isn't far behind with 29. Those three lefties are taking advantage of Yankee Stadium and the short right field porch.

In Jazz Chisholm's first year in pinstripes, he delivered a 30 home run, 30 stolen base season, which has led to speculation that he may be in line for a lengthy contract extension.

What would a Jazz Chisholm extension look like?

Chisholm isn't a free agent after this season; he has a couple of years left of arbitration, but he's likely to win his hearing this winter and earn more than the $5.85 million he made this year.

Athlon Sports' Kristie Ackert hypothesized what a potential Chisholm extension would look like, and it puts Jazz among the highest-paid second basemen in baseball:

"A reasonable extension now probably falls in the seven-year, $140–170 million range, buying out his last two arbitration years and carrying him through his 20s. That works out to $20–24 million per year, a number that balances his injury history with his impact potential."

The Yankees' front office may also opt to take the route of a five-year, $100-120 million deal, but that would still give Chisholm a nine-figure deal. It will likely depend on what New York does with some of its other impending free agents, like Trent Grisham, Devin Williams, and Luke Weaver.

One thing is for sure, though, and that is the Yankees have no problem spending money during the Winter months to ensure they will stay competitive.

Jazz is hitting .242 over 124 games this season, with 31 home runs and an OPS+ of 126.  He was also named to his second All-Star team earlier this summer, and has a bWAR of 4.0.
