Eugenio Suárez is the name on every New York Yankees fan's mind as the trade deadline looms.
The Yankees trail the Toronto Blue Jays by three games in the American League East, with a series finale to play on Wednesday. In the grand scheme of things, it's an easy deficit to erase if they have the right roster to do it.
But the Yankees are playing unproven Quadruple-A guys at third base, and that's been biting them where it hurts for weeks. Suárez might not be a Gold Glover, but that doesn't matter when he's got the same number of home runs as Aaron Judge.
If there's a way to get Suárez in New York, even though he's only likely to be there for a third of a season, the Yankees have to figure out how to make it happen.
On Wednesday, Zachary D. Rymer of Bleacher Report attempted to cook up a trade package for the Yankees to land Suárez, and the price would be more than fair: right-handed pitchers Cam Schlittler and Clayton Beeter to Arizona for two months of Suárez.
"The Yankees don't have a deep farm system right now, but it is top-heavy with arms. Schittler is one of six pitchers among their top-10 prospects, while Beeter has found a calling as a high-strikeout relief pitcher," wrote Rymer.

"Yet even if this offer worked for Arizona, there is the complication that the Yankees are in no position to spare pitching. On the contrary, general manager Brian Cashman arguably should be trying to add pitching rather than subtract it."
In reference to Rymer's last point, haven't the Yankees proven they can find pitchers, especially bullpen arms, from just about anywhere? And even if Schlittler were gone, the Yankees would still have righty prospects Carlos Lagrange, Ben Hess, Elmer Rodriguez-Cruz, and Bryce Cunningham.
Maybe the alternative to Schlittler is offering rising star outfielder Spencer Jones. But if the Yankees won't do either, their dreams of a pennant push with Suárez in tow may fall by the wayside.
