Aaron Judge is in rare company, again.
In fact, he's only the third player in MLB history to join this record list. Judge's home run on Sunday did the trick for the New York Yankees superstar.
The blast gave Judge his 50th extra-base hit of the season.
Judge has now reached 50 extra-base hits before July twice in his MLB career. He did it last year, and now again this year.
Only two players before Judge have done that, according to NY Yankee Stats.
The two on this list prior to Judge:
- Mariners' Ken Griffey Jr., 1994 and 1998
- Boston's David Ortiz, 2004 and 2016
It's amazing that Ortiz did it more than a decade apart.
It's also amazing that Judge has done it two seasons in a row. Even with his recent cool-down, he's still one of two possible candidates for AL MVP, along with Mariners catcher Cal Raleigh.

Judge crushed his Sunday home run to left field. He hit it off former Yankees pitcher Luis Severino, now in an A's uniform.
It was Judge's 29th homer of the season. He hasn't quite kept pace with Raleigh in that category, but he's still having another prodigious power season.
And this latest stat is just a little more proof of Judge's greatness.
