Yankees' Aaron Boone offers 1-word response on Jasson Dominguez injury image

So far, the New York Yankees have been able to overcome their string of bad injury luck this year. The franchise began the season with Gerrit Cole confirmed to miss all of it and Giancarlo Stanton out indefinitely.

In addition, the 2024 Rookie of the Year winner, Luis Gil, has yet to play his first game, and now closer Luke Weaver will be out a while with a hamstring strain.

But the Yankees still sit in first place in the American League East by 5.5 games. This roster was hit with another health setback last Sunday when starting outfielder Jasson Dominguez left the game against the Los Angeles Dodgers after sustaining a thumb injury.

Yankees manager Aaron Boone responded succinctly when asked how the star rookie felt after missing the last few games.

“Good,” Boone said during yesterday’s postgame interview. “He should be good to go.”

Dominguez has been squarely in the Rookie of the Year race this season. The 22-year-old has hit for an average of .247 with 6 home runs and 25 RBI. Dominguez additionally has an encouraging on-base percentage of .346, along with 8 stolen bases.

Even though they have a lot of depth, the Yankees could surely use Dominguez's bat in the lineup. And as of now, all signs point to the franchise’s top prospect from 2024 being back tonight after the Cleveland Guardians.
