After a long baseball journey, Andrew Heaney is hanging up his spikes.

The left-handed pitcher's retirement was announced this weekend. His career is over after 12 seasons in MLB.

Heaney started his pro career as the No. 9 overall pick in the 2012 MLB Draft out of Oklahoma State.

He broke into the majors in 2014 with the Miami Marlins.

His next stop was the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, for whom he pitched his longest tenure, seven seasons.

He then made 12 starts for the New York Yankees in the second half of the 2021 season.

Heaney spent 2022 with the Los Angeles Dodgers.

In 2023 and 2024, Heaney was a member of the Texas Rangers.

He split the 2025 season between the Pittsburgh Pirates and back with the Dodgers.

In his career, Heaney pitched in 230 games and threw 1,136.2 MLB innings. He had a 4.57 ERA and a 56-72 won-loss record.

Heaney struck out 1,156 batters, just more than a batter an inning.

His final outing came with the Dodgers in September, allowing three runs in two innings.

Heaney won a World Series in 2023 with the Rangers.

He was a free agent and could've signed with a new team, but instead, Heaney has chosen to move into the next chapter of his life.
