Ex-Yankee Clint Frazier calls out two players he believes shouldn’t be on New York’s roster image

Former New York Yankees bust Clint Frazier has been very outspoken over the past few years about what he believes the organization has done wrong on multiple fronts.

In Frazier’s defense, he likely feels that way because of how his time in the Bronx played out.

Once viewed as a potential star, Frazier never lived up to the hype.

As a result, he’s taken shots at several players on the current roster, as well as Brian Cashman and Hal Steinbrenner. Last week, he even went as far as naming players he believes shouldn’t be on the roster.

“Stop relying on the bounceback player,” Frazier said during his podcast, “Life After The Show,” per the New York Post.

“If you’re hoping that players are going to bounce back versus being proactive and going out and spending on the players who might be able to take the positions of the guys you hope bounce back, I think you can move in a better direction,” he added.

When getting into specific names, Frazier took issue with Anthony Volpe and Austin Wells still being part of the team.

“There is kind of a surplus sample size with some of these individuals they can move on from,” Frazier said. “There are other fish out there that you can move, go get and pounce on and make the Yankees better.

“We know who those individuals are — Anthony Volpe, Austin Wells, guys like that.”

Again, in Frazier’s defense, it’s probably unfair to say he’s completely wrong, considering many Yankees fans feel the same way.

Volpe hasn’t done enough, and neither has Wells, to suggest they deserve guaranteed spots on the roster moving forward.
