Ex-MLB outfielder suggests he helped Yankees land Jazz Chisholm Jr.

Former New York Yankees outfielder Cameron Maybin had plenty to say on his personal X (formerly Twitter) account on Tuesday. 

Maybin, who enjoyed an 82-game stint with the Yankees in 2019, wants MLB teams to know he's open to work. 

"Man, I swear I could help so many front offices. Evaluating winning players, building rosters, getting fair deals done. Some teams are one honest voice away from taking off," Maybin wrote. 

Maybin played for 10 teams across a 15-year career from 2007-21. His playing days may be over, but the 38-year-old thinks he can help an organization in need.

Maybin helped facilitate a Yankees-Marlins trade 

Maybin also stated that he may have played a small role in supporting the Yankees' mid-season trade in 2024 for second baseman Jazz Chisholm Jr. 

"I have lived it in multiple organizations and seen what it takes to lose and what it takes to win," Maybin added. "I understand the young player and the vet. And low-key, I had a little something to do with Jazz coming to the Yankees, too." 

Maybin played parts of four seasons with the Florida/Miami Marlins, but by his own account, it's unclear precisely what he did to help the Yankees pull off the trade for Chisholm. 

Whether he actually had any influence on the deal is unknown, but Maybin made it clear he wants a front-office position somewhere. 

Maybin served as a color commentator for the Yankees' YES Network in 2022, but his contract was not renewed after that season.
