Yankees GM Brian Cashman reveals details about Aaron Judge’s injury rehab image

New York Yankees superstar Aaron Judge’s rehab from an elbow issue in late-July has been the subject of debate for many Yankees fans since it occurred. Recently, GM Brian Cashman revealed details of how that rehab took place.

Judge spent the minimum 10 days on the IL from late-July to early-August while he recovered from a right elbow flexor strain injury. Upon his return, Judge was penciled in the lineup solely as a DH for nearly an entire month before returning to right field last week.

GM Brian Cashman revealed rehab process for Judge

Notably, Judge has yet to unleash a strong throw from right field like he normally would since returning to the outfield, often opting to make the shorter throw to a cut-off man, sparking debate from many fans questioning if he’s still injured. GM Brian Cashman spoke with Bryan Hoch of MLB.com to attempt to clear up any confusion.

Per Hoch, the Yankees “truncated the rehab” of Judge’s injury. He also added that Judge is still in the process of “walking that tightrope of when to throw the thunderbolt and when to play it safe.”

“The return to play protocols were adjusted ... so we're simulating that in the big leagues,” Cashman added.

After an initial slow start upon his return, Judge seems to be heating up at the right time. In his last 15 games, Judge is hitting .340 with six home runs, and in his last seven games he’s hitting .381 with four home runs.
