Of course they did.

Aaron Judge and Shohei Ohtani won their respective MVP awards in 2024. And on Friday night, they faced off when the Yankees visited the Dodgers.

They knew how to match the hype.

In the top of the first inning, Judge homered, his 19th of the season.

Leading off the bottom of the first inning, Ohtani left the building on the first pitch for his MLB-best 21st homer of the year.

You genuinely can't write the script with these guys.

They always live up to the moment. They often do things we've never seen before. They're incredible.

And they've got a whole weekend of at bats against one another still to come.

Baseball is the best.
