Taking down the Astros in two of three games, the Yankees shared quite a controversial series with Houston. From pitcher-catcher drama between Framber Valdez and Cesar Salazar, to Aaron Boone and Jazz Chisholm arguing over the strike zone, this series had it all.

Thursday's game came with its own drama as well, as Yankees manager Aaron Boone had MLB umpires conduct a bat check over a suspicious-looking bat used by Astros outfielder Taylor Trammell. Trammell, used as a pinch-hitter in the game, struck out in his first at-bat before doubling off of the Crawford Boxes in his second plate appearance. Following the extra-base hit, Trammell's bat was inspected and then confiscated by MLB umpires.

Trammell spoke to the media after the game and voiced his displeasure in regards to the check.

Aaron Boone spoke to YES Network reporters after the game, defending himself by saying: "We noticed it and the league maybe thought it was illegal too."

Although suspicious, Boone was quick to clarify that the check was conducted out of curiosity, not accusation. When speaking about the wear on Trammell's bat, he said: "I don't know if it was just natural or if it was... I don't know and I don't want to accuse Taylor."

Boone doubled down once more on Major League Baseball supporting his suspicion by adding: "We noticed it though on video while we were here and we actually mentioned it to the league and they said, no that looks like an illegal bat."

The league has yet to make a statement on Trammell's equipment.
