The New York Mets are one of the top teams in Major League Baseball and will look to bolster their roster ahead of the trade deadline.
Major League Baseball analyst TJ French of Heavy urged the Mets to make a move to acquire Chris Paddack of the Minnesota Twins.
“A deal for Paddack would ensure some stability and take some pressure off the rest of the staff,” French wrote. “A good return package for the Minnesota Twins in a trade like this would be a couple of mid-tier prospects in the Mets organization…
“Paddack could replace the starters mentioned, like Tidwell and Blackburn, and be a nice bottom-of-the-rotation piece for the Mets,” French added.

Paddack is in the final year of his three-year, $12.525 million deal, and given he’s a free agent at the end of the season, he could be a trade candidate.
With the Twins 37-40 and outside of a playoff spot, Minnesota may opt to be sellers at the deadline, and Paddack will be a popular trade target.
Paddack is 3-6 with a 4.48 ERA in 15 starts this season. In his career, he’s 30-30 with a 4.39 ERA as he’s a good fourth starter in the majors and would play a key role for the Mets down the stretch.
The Mets are 46-32 and in second place in the NL East, but are holding onto the top Wild Card spot.
