The New York Mets have done a lot of subtracting this offseason.
On Monday, they did some addition, even if it's not the flashiest free agent signing ever.
The move, reported by the New York Post's Mike Puma: The Mets are signing infielder Christian Arroyo to a minor league contract with an invite to spring training.
Arroyo was once ranked a top-100 prospect in baseball three consecutive years by MLB Pipeline.
These days, he's a journeyman who can play all over the infield.
Arroyo is 30 years old, and he was originally a first-round pick by the San Francisco Giants in the 2013 MLB Draft out of a Florida high school.
He made his MLB debut in 2017 with the Giants.

He has since played for Tampa Bay, Cleveland and Boston in the majors.
The last two seasons, Arroyo was in the Brewers' organization and then with the Phillies, although he didn't make it to the bigs with either.
In 2025, Arroyo battled injuries and played just 45 games in the Triple-A International League with Lehigh Valley.
He was good in that action, though, batting.314 with an.869 OPS.
Arroyo is a career.252 hitter at the MLB level with a.693 OPS.
His versatility and solid contact skills make him a useful player in a pinch, and it's likely he'll at least get to the majors for a brief time at some point this year as the Mets figure out the best bench setup for their infield.
