Mets' Juan Soto breaks Citi Field home run drought in epic fashion image

The New York Mets won the Juan Soto sweepstakes this offseason by signing him to a 15-year, $765 million deal. As such, Mets fans were excited to see Soto playing at Citi Field for the next decade and a half.

However, through the first 31 games of the year, Soto had not hit a home run at Citi Field. The first 15 home games came and went without Soto hitting a home run in front of the home crowd.

Then, it finally happened on Thursday.

In the bottom of the sixth inning, Soto broke an Arizona Diamondbacks shutout with a 413-foot home run to left center.

In the bottom of the eighth inning, Soto did it again.

Entering Thursday's game, Soto had just three home runs all year with the most recent coming on April 15 against the Minnesota Twins.

But, the home run drought at Citi Field ended, and he then followed it up with another home run to be responsible for the only two runs of the game for New York.

The Mets now hit the road with three games against the St. Louis Cardinals and then three against the Diamondbacks, but the Citi Field home run drought is over.
