There isn't much to say about the New York Mets at the moment. The Mets were one of the better teams in baseball at times throughout the season, but have largely been a massive disappointment.
At 76-71 and now 11.0 games behind the first-place Philadelphia Phillies, barring a historic collapse from Philadelphia, the division is as good as done. The Mets' best chances will be making the postseason via the Wild Card, but they only have a 1.5-game lead after Thursday night.
Something has to change for the Mets, and there's plenty that has to. Not only do they need to be better offensively, but the Mets' pitching staff simply hasn't done enough for them to win games at the highest level.
Mets manager talks recent struggles
For a team that should have much better starting pitching, despite some questions about the rotation entering the year, the Mets haven't done enough.
It's caused frustration throughout the entire organization, with skipper Carlos Mendoza saying he's confident in his guys, but that nobody is happy.
"Nobody is happy right now,” Mendoza said. “They know where we’re at. That’s one thing with these guys, they’re not going to give up. They are going to show up, they are going to keep preparing,”

In some sense, it isn't the worst thing to hear that no player in the Mets organization is currently happy. None of them should be, considering they've been one of the more disappointing teams in baseball.
However, they can't let that frustration boil over and continue to let it impact their play. The Mets need to improve significantly during the final part of the campaign, with less than a month remaining in the regular season.
