No, that headline isn't a typo.
Ronny Mauricio is batting .515 at Triple-A Syracuse this season. But he's no longer in Syracuse.
The New York Mets Mauricio up to the big leagues on Tuesday. He takes the roster spot of Mark Vientos, who was placed on the 10-day Injured List.
This actually won't be the former top prospect Mauricio's MLB debut. He appeared in 26 major league games in 2023 and batted .248 with two homers.
But an injury kept him away in 2024, and he's just now getting back.
Mauricio's sample size at Triple-A this season was small, but he was 17-for-33 with three home runs and four stolen bases.

The 24-year old can play all over the infield. At Syracuse, he spent time at both second base and third base.
On Tuesday night, Mauricio is right into the Mets' lineup at third base against Dodgers legend Clayton Kershaw.
Mauricio signed with the Mets as a 16-year old out of the Dominican Republic.
He'll be hoping this is a call-up for good, although things will get crowded again when Vientos gets back from injury.
We know one thing: If Mauricio hits .515 in the major leagues while Vientos is out, he won't be getting sent back down anytime soon.
