Twins make decisions on trading Byron Buxton, Joe Ryan, Pablo Lopez image

The Minnesota Twins have had three players prominently featured in trade rumors this offseason.

Byron Buxton, Joe Ryan and Pablo Lopez have all been viewed as candidates to be sent to other teams.

Now? It sounds like they're staying put.

The Athletic's Ken Rosenthal reported that the Twins plan to keep all three of these guys for the 2026 season.

It's a refreshing bit of news for Twins fans, if it holds true.

Buxton has said he wants to be a Twin "for life."

The Twins could've traded Ryan in July, but they opted to keep him then.

Lopez is another solid starting pitcher behind Ryan.

If Minnesota had started trading these guys, they might as well have traded all three and gone into a total rebuild.

It looks instead like they're going for the reverse of holding them.

Now, it's safe to expect the Twins to make at least a few additions in free agency, even if they aren't the biggest names.

They've clearly decided to give their MLB team a chance in 2026, and it'll be up to these leaders to help the team respond in a big way.
