The Milwaukee Brewers have the best record in the MLB so far this season at 86-55. Milwaukee is most likely going to be the number one seed in the National League and also win the NL Central division for the third consecutive season.

With that being said, there are going to be many questions about if the Brewers can finally win a playoff series or not. Milwaukee has never won a World Series title in franchise history. Over the last two postseasons, they lost to the New York Mets and also the Arizona Diamondbacks in the wild card round. Even with Milwaukee having the best record in the MLB, there are a lot of people who are not going to believe in this franchise until they can make a deep run in the postseason.

One MLB Insider Lists Major Concern for the Milwaukee Brewers as the Postseason Approaches

Each playoff team in the field at the moment has at least one concern. For Milwaukee, the biggest concern for them in the playoffs will be a lack of power in the lineup. Andy McCullough of the Athletic said,

"The Brewers do a lot of things well — but the team does not hit the ball over the fence all that often. As the ancient baseball proverb says: “Ball go far, team go far.” Each of the last five World Series champions has finished the regular season ranked in the top four in home runs. Milwaukee entered Friday at No. 19. Outfielder Christian Yelich leads the team with 27, but no other Brewer has hit more than 18. “People get on us for not hitting homers,” Yelich said earlier this summer. “We’ve heard the whole spiel.”

There are reasons for optimism. William Contreras and Jackson Chourio are heating up in the second half. A healthy Rhys Hoskins could also provide some thump. But the lack of power is a glaring concern for the team with the best record in baseball, especially with Yelich sitting out this week because of soreness in his chronically troublesome back."

The Brewers have the second-best batting average in baseball at .259. However, they are 19th in the MLB with 152 home runs this season. Milwaukee has the second fewest home runs out of the 12 current playoff teams in the field. The only team who has fewer home runs than the Brewers out of playoff teams is the San Diego Padres with 122.

Milwaukee is managed by Pat Murphy, and they have been a contact team all season long. Christian Yelich, Jackson Chourio, and William Contreras are the best power hitters in the Brewers lineup. This lineup is very similar to the 2015 Kansas City Royals, who won the World Series against the New York Mets. Even with the lack of power, the Brewers may have a team that is finally built for playoff baseball.
