The Milwaukee Brewers are absolutely on fire. They simply refuse to lose. The Brewers won their ninth straight game and finished a three-game sweep over the New York Mets. The win for the Brewers pushed them to 73-44. They have won 12 out of their last 13 games.
The loss for the Mets was another crusher. New York came into the game second in the National League East, at 63-54. It was their seventh straight loss, and 11th out of their last 12 games.

The Mets led the game 2-0 after one inning, and 5-0 heading into the bottom of the fourth inning. Juan Soto, Jeff McNeil, Brett Baty and Ronny Mauricio all drove in runs. Cedric Mullins hit his first home run as a member of the Mets to make it 5-0.
That's when the Brewers' comeback started. William Contreras hit his first of a back-to-back innings with a solo home run. Joey Ortiz tied the game off Ryan Helsley in the bottom of the eighth inning.
Edwin Diaz came in to pitch in the bottom of the ninth following the Mets' unable to score. Isaac Collins came up with one out and sent 42,461 fans home from American Family Field in a frenzy with a home run to right field.

New York will look to get back on track as it heads home. The Mets will start a three-game series against the Atlanta Braves on Tuesday. Following that, the Seattle Mariners come to town for a three-game series over the weekend.
For the Brewers, they will remain at home. The Brewers and Pirates start a three-game series on Monday. After taking Thursday off, the Brewers will head to Cincinnati for a weekend series.
