The Milwaukee Brewers currently hold the best record in baseball and are headed towards having home-field advantage throughout the playoffs. Milwaukee is backed by a dominant starting staff, a strong bullpen, and a scrappy, fundamental offense.
They will be without starter Brandon Woodruff for at least 12 days as he was placed on the Injured List with a right lat strain. There is just one week left in the MLB regular season.
Brandon Woodruff Lands on IL with a lat strain
The roster move was announced by the team's official X page and is retroactive to Sep. 18, which would make Woodruff available for the NLDS that starts on Oct. 4, presuming that they hold onto the top spot.
Injuries continue to pile up for Woodruff, as he missed all of the 2024 season with a right shoulder injury, and didn't make his 2025 season debut until July.
However, he has been effective this season. Over 12 starts and 64.2 innings, Woodruff has a 3.20 ERA and 83 strikeouts.
He has faced many injury setbacks throughout his career, but Brewers fans hope that this isn't going to be a lingering issue. Milwaukee has the arms to be successful without Woodruff, but starting pitching is just so important during the MLB Playoffs, and Woodruff has appeared to be durable for his time being out on the mound this season.
