Jeff Passan must be bored.
ESPN's leading MLB insider is on top of the biggest transactions in baseball, often being the first one to break the news of major trades and free agent signings.
But when lesser moves take place, Passan often holds off. He doesn't post every little transaction on X. He lets other insiders handle that.
When Passan tweets, it's usually a big deal.
Not on Tuesday, though.
Passan decided he'd break the news of a trade between the Miami Marlins and Colorado Rockies, always a good start with two really riveting franchises.
And then this move involved a pitcher named Bradley Blalock.
He's being sent from the Rockies to the Marlins for a minor league pitcher.
Blalock was just designated for assignment by the Rockies, which means that the worst team in baseball didn't want him on their 40-man roster.
Trade news: The Miami Marlins are acquiring right-hander Bradley Blalock from the Colorado Rockies for a minor league pitcher, sources tell ESPN. Blalock was DFA'd by the Rockies last week and gives Miami additional pitching depth after it traded Edward Cabrera and Ryan Weathers.

The Marlins have been active in the trade market, as Passan's post mentions.
Still, though, this might be the least meaningful trade of the entire offseason, and it takes place between two of the league's weakest teams.
Passan is one of those reporters for whom lots of people have notifications turned on. When it's a post from him, it's usually worth having pop up on our phones right away.
Not this one, though. This one was stunning only for the fact that Passan posted about it at all.
