Blake Snell has looked like Sandy Koufax at time during this postseason for the Los Angeles Dodgers.
His final start of the year is coming up next, Game 5 of the World Series on Wednesday night against the Toronto Blue Jays.
Each time Snell pitches, though, social media starts to notice his eyes.
They have bags under them and have a look of being swollen. It doesn't impact Snell's pitching at all. It's just something that has gotten people talking for years.

That first post is from July 13, 2018. The second is from Game 1 of the World Series.
For better or worse, that's Snell's look.

Why does Blake Snell have swollen bags under his eyes?
The star left-handed pitcher Snell has never spoken publicly about the appearance of his eyes, which leads to plenty of speculation.
The most likely answer is genetics. Social media sleuths on both Reddit and X have reached that conclusion.
According to Dr. Brett Kotlus: "The vast majority of eye bags have a significant hereditary component."
Given that Snell's eyes have had this appearance for his entire MLB career, it's safe to say that's probably the explanation.
They certainly haven't impacted his pitching. He's one of the best left-handed pitchers of this generation over his time with the Tampa Bay Rays, San Diego Padres, San Francisco Giants and now the Dodgers.
