MLB legend Pedro Martinez sends ultimate Dodgers warning to Mariners, Brewers, Blue Jays image

The Los Angeles Dodgers were spiraling a little over a month ago, which is how they ended up as the worst division winner in the National League. But during the postseason, the only player who has really struggled is Shohei Ohtani. Unfortunately for Los Angeles, he’s going through a slump at the worst possible time.

“Ohtani was the focus of every plan of attack for the Philadelphia Phillies, who deployed one left-handed pitcher after another in the National League Division Series. Ohtani had one hit and struck out nine times in 18 at-bats, with 16 of his 20 plate appearances coming against lefties,” The Athletic’s Fabian Ardaya wrote.

While Ohtani isn’t performing at his best, his teammates are stepping up. The Dodgers have been coming through when he hasn’t. On Tuesday, Max Muncy made franchise history.

“Los Angeles Dodgers slugger Max Muncy set a franchise record by hitting his 14th career postseason homer in Game 2 of the National League Championship Series against the Milwaukee Brewers on Tuesday night. Muncy’s 412-foot drive over the center-field wall in the sixth inning broke the Dodgers mark he had shared with Justin Turner and Corey Seager,” Fox Sports wrote.

The Dodgers are playing so well right now that former MLB legend Pedro Martinez has issued a warning to the rest of the league.

“This is a very complete Dodger unit out there with a mission. This team, regardless of all the hype around them, understands their business and puts the fame aside and they come to the field to play. They don’t pay attention to anything else,” Martinez wrote.

The Dodgers are playing their best baseball at the perfect time, and it doesn’t seem like anyone is going to stop them from chasing back-to-back World Series championships. Heading back to Los Angeles with a 2–0 series lead gives them a great chance to close it out. Right now, the Dodgers just look unbeatable.
