World Series MVP Yoshinobu Yamamoto saved the day for the Dodgers by throwing 2.2 innings without giving up a run. He finished the last three outs, allowing just one extra-base hit during the 11th inning.

One of those included the top of the ninth inning, when Miguel Rojas launched a solo home run to tie the game before Yoshinobu Yamamoto took over from Blake Snell in the ninth inning to record the final two outs and take The contest went into overtime. The Dodgers secured their place in MLB history as the first team in two and a half decades to achieve consecutive World Series championships, thanks to Will Smith's decisive home run in the eleventh inning, coupled with another shutout performance by Yamamoto.
